Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Knight!

We had such a beautiful wedding this past weekend! We met Jessica and Bradford back in 2015, when both they and their families fell in love with our venue during their site visit.  (With our floor-to-ceiling windows allowing natural light to spill into the ballroom, what's not to love? )  March 6th, 2016 most certainly did not disappoint!  After a rainy Saturday, the sun came out for a beautiful day for their wedding.
This wedding had so many cute touches!  Their linen was gorgeous-they utilized a mix of our house linens with some simple, classic linen upgrades to really make their ceremony and reception pop.  One of my favorite touches was their sweetheart table! I love when brides do a really bold, fun table cloth for their head table or cake table-its an awesome accent that makes a big difference without breaking the budget.

There were so many sweet, hand-made details, such as their wedding date around the vases, and the hashtag #jessfoundherknight so they could enjoy photos from all of their guests! I love this idea, since during the craziness of the day, the bride and groom don't often get to take as many of their own photos as they might want to! Overall, it was a beautiful day, with a gorgeous couple that we had so much fun planning with.  Cheers to you, Jessica and Bradford!

We Love Our Members!

We just wanted to send a quick shout out to the members of the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club!  In just over two weeks, our members and their families created 40 Valentines Day Cards for 107.9's Cards for Kids card drive. These Valentine's Day cards will be delivered this weekend to kids who are patients at Franciscan St. Francis Health-Women & Children's Center.  We are so excited to be a part of such a great cause, and that our members have such big hearts! Just one more reason we love our members at the Hawthorns Country Club!

Congratulations Shenay and Adam!

What a fantastic February day for a wedding!

Shenay and Adam had a beautiful wedding with the Hawthorns this past weekend.  The weather couldn't have cooperated more! The sun was shining in through our floor to ceiling windows that line our entire ballroom-it was so nice we even had the doors open on the private balcony off the side of their reception space!  I loved the centerpieces that Shenay put together; it felt like a beach wedding during winter! I loved the mixture of the sand with pearls, and using a plate as the base was so creative.
I also think its so fun when brides switch up their centerpieces and do something a little different on the tables.  The gel mixed in with the silk flowers made them look even more realistic!  But my absolute favorite part was the kids tables...
What a fun idea!  Shenay and Adam had a lot of kids attending their wedding, and wanted to make sure it was fun for them too.  They put together custom coloring books with activities to keep the kids busy all evening long.  I though the "autograph" page was super fun-the kids had to go around to get the "autographs" of the other kids, which encouraged them all to meet each other!

There were so many other great elements of this wedding: from a classic Norwegian cake honoring the bride and groom's family heritage, to birthday cards to sign for Adam's birthday (which was also the same day!), this wedding was definitely unique and had the family written all over it!  Congrats again to Shenay and Adam-we loved planning with you and sharing  your special day!

Vines for Life Fundraiser

We had the pleasure of hosting the Vines for Life Fundraiser this past January!  Vines for Life is a wine tasting event that raises money for Team Luke, Creating Hope and the Indy SurviveOars Dragon Boat Team: three Geist-area cancer charities.  What an amazing event to be not only the host of, but as of this year, a sponsor of as well!  Jeanne and Tom, our organizers, were amazing to work with, and the attention to detail that all of the volunteers showed throughout the day arranging auction items perfectly was incredible.

The room looked fantastic decked out in auction gifts and over 60 different wines donated by Elite Beverages and National Wine and Spirits.  Not to be outdone by the amazing tasting atmosphere, our culinary team put together an amazing food display! From bags of popcorn straight out of an old fashioned popcorn cart and hot pretzels, to mini sliders and mac&cheese bites, our team did not disappoint!  My personal favorite was the dessert station our Chef whipped up!

The homemade chocolate covered strawberries were AMAZING, and I couldn't get enough of the brownies drizzled with caramel and powdered sugar (we have to do a taste test to make sure it's good enough for our guests, right!?)  Overall, the event was a huge success, and we look forward to hosting the event again next year, making it even bigger and better!

Pastor Harris' Surprise 60th Birthday Bash!

What a fun evening event we had this past weekend!  We were contacted a couple of months ago by our friend Jennifer who was looking to host a birthday celebration for the pastor of her church.  We began the planning process, and knew it was going to be a great time!  But it's hard to do the event justice just by writing about it.  Over 200 guests showed up to honor and surprise Pastor Harris!  The doors opened upon his arrival to his congregation cheering, "SURPRISE!", and then heading into a chorus of Happy Birthday.  From there, it was an evening of non-stop sharing and visiting within the community.  Member after member stepped up to share stories of how Pastor Harris has touched their lives; there was even a gorgeous song written for the pastor and played live that evening!

Thank you so much to Jennifer and her church for allowing us to be a part of such a special day!  It was so fantastic to meet everyone and get to see the joy and community spirit within the room.  Happy Birthday again Pastor Harris, from the Hawthorns Team!
